Back to Word of Warcraft

Posted by Seb on July 26, 2010

This weekend, I got my account activated.   I did stop playing for almost 8 months.   I was tired of the game and had met someone.   Now, I’m missing the game and I’m risking a comeback.  I just need to make sure to not play too much (meaning almost not doing raids) as to not break anything in my relationship.

I will probably go back on the Kilrogg server.  The only problem is that I don’t like the idea of paying for the transfer of my 2 mains.   I could transfer only my druid and level up a new paladin.  Anyway, I would prefer having a human one.  But losing all the time I put on him is not an idea I really like.   If I transfer him, I could also pay for a race change…   But it would mean more money.  Would be like throwing money out by the window…   So, not sure what I will do.

I did start new characters : a priest, a mage, a paladin and a hunter.    It is the priest I did play the most.    If I move one of my main over, i will at least be able to use a few heirloom with my new characters.

I also consider applying to join back the guild Circle of Truth.  Been with them for, I think, 4 years in the past.  Would be nice to get in touch with old friends.

So, I’m back in the game, but still not sure where to play…

May start to look for a raiding guild

Posted by Seb on February 18, 2009

My Paladin is ready for Naxx 10man for a while, I tried to help others in the guild to get ready, but look like I most admit that they doesn’t seem to be looking forward to it too much and that our play time isn’t they best mix.

So I think I will start looking for guild that raid around 7pm – 9pm (east time) on Shandris who is in need of a tank.

The sad part is I love the people in AncientOnes.  So If I end up moving my main else where, I will ask them to keep my alts so we stay in touch.  I wouldn’t be the first member having a main in an other guild.

I just want to hit a raid instance once a week.  I don’t feel it is a hardcore goal.  But to do that (being able to start raid instances), people need at least to focus on gearing their main instead of just leveling alts.  Not blaming anyone.  Just pointing out that the goals may just not be the same.

Will see about it in the next few days/week.

WotLK: I finally got it

Posted by Seb on November 23, 2008

I finally bough the expansion.  As far as on which server I will play, I’m almost decided to pay for a server transfer.  I don’t like the idea to pay 25$ US for this, but I really do like having the game set as my real life time.  And I better transfer early to allow myself a chance to make myself a name and increase my chance to get invited in a guild.

17:50 So I did transfer Drimegora to Shandrid.  I did it before changing mind again.  But I left Volossard and Mandezar on Kilrogg.  I did had the heart to delete those toons.  Too much memories with those.  And it could be a way to keep in touch with my old guilmates.

Can’t set my mind

Posted by Seb on November 21, 2008

Now that I’m back on WoW, I just can’t set myself if I want to continue on Kilrogg (West coast server) or get a new start on Shandris (East Coast Server).  So I decided to build a for and against list in hope it will help me.

For Kilrogg:

  • Know a bunch of people
  • Been in the same guild for around 3 years (with the exception of a few months)
  • Will feel like letting the guild GM down if I leave
  • No transfer fees to play my level 70 toon and have access to resources in my bank.

Against Kilrogg:

  • Server on the west coast time zone
  • Some people I hardly can stand
  • I have a long memory making it hard to put aside old stories.
  • Hardly see how I will be able to raid on friendly time

For Shandris

  • Server on the east coast time zone.
  • Fresh new start
  • Can start a human paladin (I would prefer it over a Dranei one)
  • Chances to find a group to raid at friendlier raid times

Against Shandris

  • No guarantee I will find a guild that have raid time that will fit me
  • Need to pay for a server transfer to play my old characters and/or use their money

In short I will say my heart tell me to stay while my heart tell me to leave Kilrogg.
